My daughter begins nursing school on Monday and we have been buying all her books and supplies these past few weeks. Not to mention the tuition. Everyone should appreciate how much these students have to spend to buy all the equipment required. I know we do now that we have had to buy for our own student. When I went to college it was just books but they have to have so much more but we are finally done. THANK GOODNESS!
Now we have to build back up our savings and I am trying to spend as little as possible. I love frugalmakescents money saving challenges as they encourage me to save on all the small things as well as the big expenses. Check her blog out it is great. Wish I had lived that way when we were young. Think of all the money we'd have. One bright spot, came out of CVS the other day with only tax paid oop. Love those trips.

College tuition and books are so expensive! I was so glad when my sons had finished and there was no more tuition payments.
It is never too late to start saving. :-) You have to watch the big things but it really is the little things that help drain a budget!

I hear ya about the college spending! Last week I wrote a check for over $7K...ugh!
Add in the other things I had to pay that week and my account waved goodbye to over TEN GRAND!
Just 4 books were over $500! It just makes me sick....
We tried the textbook rental deal last fall but it pretty much was a disaster from start to finish so Hubs doesn't want to try a different company. I would if it was just me. sigh
Time for us to get back on the savings track too and stop the bleeding.... ;-)

I did manage to sell four old texts from last year on Amazon. Off to mail three today. It only amounts to the price of one book though. Ha! It is a racket isn't it?
