I am trying to gather some 50s retro items for my kitchen mini makeover and remembered this was way up in the cupboard and is I am sure, decades old as it was here with the house when we bought it.
Perfect item to hold snacks for the kids.
Oh yeah look at those red knobs. I am on the hunt for more red and turquoise items to go with the funky tiles in my kitchen.
I can't wait to paint in here but it is number three on the painting hit list so who knows when we will make the final transformation to my funky 50s kitchen. Until then I shall continue gathering.

Why too cute!
I love that the canister was there with the house when you got it--I have a set of mixing bowls that lived here before we did! Isn't it fun collecting treasures for a project like your Funky Fifties kitchen?
Reading that you want to add some turquoise made me remember the turquoise refrigerator a friend's grandmother had in her little kitchen. I thought it was so much better than the boring white one we had at our house.
So cute. I love that little oven!!!
I'm loving the retro-cuteness.
Well, you are certainly off to a great start. Love the jar & the bread box.

Think those tiles were inspired by the Space Race? Remind me of little constellations. Thanks for sharing.
So many fun things going on here. I love the Beagle has landed. Looking forward to seeing your new bedroom too.

Really cute! Love that glass cannister, and all your other retro kitchen goodies. Thanks for sharing the fun and linking up to VIF! hugs Debra
Adorable! I love the little vintage stove too.
I love your post and like you I adore 50's things as I was a little girl and remember those inocent, charming and simple times myself.
I love your things, can't wait till you finish your kitchen!

Love your retro kitchen - how fun! Those kitchen tiles are great and I am happy you intend to keep them. I think I have seen some 50s barkcloth with a similar pattern. The hunt is half the fun!
