Didn't Sleep Well Last Night

I didn't sleep well last night and it is not for the usual reasons. You're gonna chuckle at this one, but it was because my littlest one wasn't sleeping near me. She was in her big girl bed in her own room last night for the first night. I know sounds crazy but she has been in a bed in my room since she was born. My husband and I had a very large room and her crib was in there with us. She used her room only a few times. It just felt so strange without her bed in our room and with the moving around of rooms, we needed the space now and it was time. But I missed her little sounds in the night and her nearness. Co-dependent right? Well, I have had all types of babies. One that at six weeks, slept in her bed all night and never looked back. You couldn't get her to come into our room to sleep. She was a hard sleeper and liked her room. I've had everything in between as well. Those that come in when scared or wake at night, but this last baby was the hardest to settle at night and often woke up when she was a baby, so in our room she went, and everyone slept much better. I am of the mothering mind that you should do what works for you. If they need you in the night, then they need you.
Anyway, I missed her but she did fine in her bed and slept all night. Mom will survive and my room looks so much nicer without her bed in there. Tonight I shall sleep like a rock!

You are a good Mother! It is so hard when our babies leave the nest, whether to the next room or a home of their home. Sleep well!

I agree with your mothering philosophy. They grow up so fast and it's best that they get what they need at a young age. I think it helps them when they are older. I hope you get a good night's sleep tonight.

Hope you get a good nights sleep tonight!
I am sure it must be helpful knowing she
slept soundly and had no problems with it!
Shew............that ususally is not the
case after such a long time.

I remember
my brother and his wife going thru that....
and when they tried to move him to his
own room, he would hold his breath, and
then they would give in. A nurse friend
told them, so what if he holds his breath,
he will just pass out and start breathing.
Funny!!

I would have never thought of that either!! lol
Blessings for Sweet Dreams.........

I share you feelings. If a child needs you, you should be there and available. I never let mine "cry it out" either!! NEVER!!! Hope you sleep tight tonight.
