I love the simple lines of shaker style furniture and especially primitive decor. I try to get away from it but cannot. It is where my heart lies. I have always prefered simple lines and rustic finishes. My dining room table is not my style but was here with the house and was free so I live with it. I have thought of painting it. It will be a while before it can be replaced.
I decided to just leave a simple runner on the table. Does it look terribly mish mash with those red chairs too? Not sure if I should put the table cloth back on it. I am very undecided today aren't I?
But oh my I love my new black chairs. We don't buy much new furniture around here so this is a real treat.

How exciting to have new chairs. I like primitives too and have a couple of tables I need to snap for you. Shaker style is timeless. I think we have bought three pieces of new furniture since we got married so I know what you mean.
How fun! I love the chairs!! Always such a treat to get something new!
I love your new chairs! I love primitive too. Your dining room looks adorable! Stop by and visit me sometime:)
Love the chairs as well. I am wishing for some new furniture......but it's not very high on the list. Love that you got them for each other.
What a nice way to treat yourself. The chairs look great.
Beautiful! What a wonderful gift!
Love your new chairs, how fun!
How fun! New furniture is always great to freshen up a look.
Your new chairs look great with your table and decor! I love new pieces of furniture, for they are a rare treat for me, too! :o)
♥ your new black chairs! As for your table runner...when I'm undecided, I layer. It's not unusual for me to use a tablecloth runner and placemats (you can check out a picture of my table on my latest post if you need a visual). Enjoy those new chairs!
I like your mis-matched chairs Elaine, they look fabulous. I love how you decorate and appreciate all the little things in life. You and I have a lot in common!

Debbie

I love your chairs! I like the red ones also. I mix and match my chairs at my table. I have a matching set, but like the mismatched look in my farmhouse primitive decor, so the matching ones are stored. (kids just shake their heads..lol) Looks great!
I am so addicted to chairs, lol. I love your new ones and the red ones too -- they are all terrific :)
Blessings!

I love the combination of the red and black chairs! The question is...does it go with your decor? ;)
So pretty! I love your differ colored chairs!
I just saw your new chairs and they ARE great! I would paint the others black as well as the table, prim it up! I just *traded* my bar top table for a farmnhouse table and chairs from a dear friend of mine, he walked in one day and loved my table and I have always loved his (handmade) table and chairs so we decided to trade. His chairs were red and his table blond and I wanted them to match my hutch I did keep so I painted all the chairs (backs only) black and resanded and stained the seats of the chairs and the table to match my hutch, LOVE IT! It was a lot of work but we had had some real nice weather here so most of the sanding an staining was done outdoors. It costs me roughly $40 for paint, stain and materials but it looks so different and I LOVE it now. Jut thought I would share with yoy my story and maybe you can find a friend who wants to do a swap or maybe paint the others to match? Happy Holidays!!
