Downton Abbey
I stumbled upon this PBS series a few weeks ago. It is fabulous. Set in Edwardian England, it is so well acted and visually a feast for the eyes. Season two starts tonight but if you can see season one online, you won't be disappointed. Elizabeth McGovern plays the American wife to her English husband. I loved her in the 80s and she is perfect in this role.

Yes, it's a great show! We just finished re-watching Season I (I have it on dvd) in preparation for the big night tonight. If you have never seen the original Upstairs Downstairs series that ran in the '70s you might want to watch it. It is very similar (though more statically filmed, more like filming a stage drama since it was in the 70's), but the themes are very similar and it was very well done. It covers from Queen Victoria's death up to the crash of 1929. We have also loved the series Larkrise to Candleford, about village life in late 1880's England.
Hello Elaine!
Stopping by for the first time from Buttercup's place. Sweet place you have here :)
Sounds like an interesting TV series. Thank you for sharing your find!
Nice to meet you!

I would love to watch this series! I'll check my TV guide! Thanks! ♥
Well, I'm sure it is better than the Glam Fairy, so I'll watch it! I love Elizabeth McGovern, too.
I haven't heard Elizabeth McGovern's name in ages! Glad she's still acting. So few TV shows anymore worth watching.

I LOVE this series. My girlfriend gave me the first season on dvd for my birthday and I'm hooked. It starts in about 45 minutes here. I love the pics of your kitchen too. So similar to mine.
