These are some of my sunflowers from the front yard. The horrid offenders my neighbor hates. But rather than have her scoff and them leaning over the fence, I cut a bunch of them to enjoyed by us. I think they are my favorite summer cut flower.
In the morning with the sun shining brightly.
In the afternoon. What could be prettier. Some of the already developed seed heads went to the chickens.
Thank you all so much for taking the time to join the party yesterday. It meant so much to see so many of my friends join and to meet some new ones. Thank you so very much!! Also the party is still open here if you'd like to join in. I will do the drawing at the end of the week.

Oh the horror of such beauty....
They are beautiful! Why does your neighbor not like them - because they may attract beautiful birds to her yard?? Oh well. Glad you cut them to enjoy. And yes, they are SO cheering!
Sunflowers are the giddy joyous child of the gardens...they bring such love to our hearts...maybe her heart is hard, lol.
I love them so much they are scattered everywhere around here. And the little black oil sunflowers from the birds are growing in the grass, and the gravel paths, and the back yard...and the.....

Those are beautiful. I think I am going to buy some seeds to plant in my new yard. Great Linky Party By The Way! Your blog is fabulous and I knew immediately you would be successful, especially since you can post just about anything to your linky party! I will be a regular joiner.
...horrid offenders! ha ha ha !
As to going to the chickens; true story.
I planted a long row of these beauties; and when they started coming up, my chickens ate them. Didn't they know I was growing them a much tastier snack? Guess not. I have two plants left that will hopefully bloom soon. I'll give them the seeds then!
enjoyed your party, met some new blog faces!
Pat

Too bad for your neighbor :( :( :( I think your sunflowers are really pretty and cheerful :) :) :) Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)
What pretty flowers Elaine! I love the sunny colors of sunflowers and always smile when I see them because they remind me of our neighbor. Not too long after we moved here, we began seeing sunflowers pop up all over our yard. We knew we didn't plant them and wondered where they came from. Finally my neighbor proudly admitted she sprinkled seeds all over the community because she liked sunflowers and wanted to see them on her daily walks.
Not only did she go to our house, but many people in the subdivision got a surprise that year. Even though my neighbor has since moved, each time I see sunflowers, I think of that story and smile.
Thanks for joining Your Cozy Home Party this week.
Beautiful! These are one of my favorite flowers!
