Mr. Sunny and I celebrated our 23rd anniversary this weekend. We had not been away in years so we decided to take a quick trip up the coast for a night. This was such a treat and something we really need to do more often. We had so much fun together.
We took our time and stopped for a nice lunch and then checked into our hotel. We headed to the Ventura Harbor for dinner and some shopping. We ate at our favorite restaurant and enjoyed such a nice view. This is what we were looking at while we ate and talked and laughed and just relaxed. Watching all the boats coming and going just lowers your blood pressure. I love to be near the water.
We had the most wonderful dinner. Fresh seafood can't be beat. This is me after saying' "don't take my picture."
This was our appetizer. Mussels, clams, oysters, shrimp. Heaven!
I just love this pic of my man. How I was so lucky to marry someone so wonderful, I have no idea. He is my best friend and just the love of my life and I am so grateful to have him.
We were married young and really grew up together. We really enjoy each other and our life. Simple as it is and often very busy but good busy and he is the best. I love you honey!
Hope you all have wonderful week and Sunny Simple Sundays is going and you can link up here.

Elaine, I have yet to see a photo of you that was not becoming. I am so happy for you two. I was never able to find wedding bliss, but I am happy for those of you lucky/smart enough to find it. Not sappy. Just real. And it brings tears to my eyes, my friend.

I am so glad you got to have your little getaway! Sometimes it is only 24 hours that revives us, and gives us the energy to keep up the pace.
What a beautiful place you dined!!! And so much cooler too. It isn't even 7:30 AM and the air has kicked on. Ugh!!

Don't apologize even if it is sappy, Elaine! (Which it's not anyway, just sweet). It's so refreshing to see happily married couples (especially for many years) enjoying their time together and remembering what committment and true love is! :) So glad you two were able to get away and have that special time together! You two look cute together! :)
Blessings,
Tammy

Happy Anniversary! Glad you and your hubby could get away and celebrate.
Elaine, congratulations on your anniversary. You post was not sappy. It was spoken from your heart. Good marriages are treasures.
Sounds like a wonderful trip and the picture of you is good. I love being near water, too. Happy anniversary to both of you.
Sounds like the perfect weekend getaway.
blessing to you.
Happy anniversary, so glad you got to spend the weekend in your favorite place with your favorite person! What a blessing to marry your best friend. Hugs ~ Mary
Happy Anniversary to you both! So glad you had a wonderful getaway with your man. :)
Congratulations on 23 years of happy marriage. We celebrated our 43rd last month, and can say we are still a loving couple who finds comport and happiness in the company of each other. I am so glad you can boast the same feelings between your husband and yourself. I think that the important part of marriage is to be working for the same goal. Marriages get into trouble when one person is a taker and the other is the giver. It takes a true balance and a genuine desire for both partners to want the other's happiness more than their own.....the union seems to thrive under those circumstances.
Love your post, not sappy at all, just a happy woman who loves her man and vice versa.
(((HUGS))) Susanne :)
So glad to hear that you had a nice weekend! Sounds like it was just what you needed for a little refreshing in life. Blessings for many more wonderful years together.

Heaven indeed. What a nice get a way.
Happy Anniversary to you both. :0)
Happy Anniversary to you! What a wonderful get-away! I love Ventura Beach and especially Ventura Harbor. A couple of years ago we spent a few days there and ate at Brophy Brothers Clam Bar and Restaurant over looking the harbor. Brings back wonderful memories. I'm ready for another get-away!
It may be sappy but I had a smile on my face while I was reading it! ~ Maureen
